Preliminary Examination

Eliminative

Objective type exam with two papers: General Studies (100 marks) and Law (150 marks). Qualifying marks: 45% for UR, 40% for Reserved.

Main (Written) Examination

Eliminative

Subjective exam consisting of 5 compulsory papers (Hindi and English are qualifying) and 3 optional papers chosen from a list of 5 subjects.

100 marks interview. Minimum qualifying marks: 35%. Final merit list is based on Main Exam + Interview marks.

Candidates from categories other than Reserved and OH are limited to a maximum of 5 attempts.

Is the Hindi and English paper marks added to the merit list?

No, General Hindi and General English are qualifying papers (minimum 30 marks required). Their marks are not added to the final merit list.
